Location

In the heart of Old Town Fort Collins.

The Welsh Rabbit is a space where craft, patience, and hospitality quietly converge. A family-owned cheese shop with deep roots and a discerning eye, it balances old-world tradition with thoughtful modern taste.

Shelves of local and imported cheeses sit beside carefully chosen provisions, while custom charcuterie boards are prepared by skilled mongers who understand that great things are built through attention, timing, and care. It’s an intimate, sensory space—warm, grounded, and human—an ideal setting to slow down, gather, and explore ideas with intention.

In this class, you’ll learn the essential principles of light, composition, and camera control that shape every strong photograph. Through guided instruction and hands-on practice, you’ll begin to understand how small adjustments in perspective, timing, and settings can transform an ordinary moment into a compelling image. By the end, you’ll have the confidence and technical foundation needed to create photographs with clarity and intention.

Once the images are captured, we’ll move into the editing process—exploring how to refine and elevate your work using tools like Lightroom, Photoshop, and Cinemagraph techniques. By the end, you’ll have the confidence and technical foundation needed to create photographs with clarity, intention, and a polished final result.

1. Conceptualize

Develop the creative idea behind the image. We’ll explore how to recognize compelling moments, shape visual concepts, and plan a shot with intention before the camera ever comes out.

2. Prototype

Test and refine the concept before committing to the final shot. Through quick experiments with light, framing, and composition, you’ll learn how small adjustments can dramatically improve the final image.

3. Shoot

Capture the image with clarity and purpose. You’ll apply the principles of light, timing, and camera control to create photographs that feel deliberate rather than accidental.

4. Colorgrade

Refine the visual mood of your images. Using tools like Lightroom and Photoshop, we’ll explore how thoughtful color adjustments can elevate an image and bring your creative vision to life.

5. Edit

Polish the final image through careful editing and finishing techniques. This step focuses on subtle improvements that bring balance, clarity, and cohesion to the photograph.

6. Publish

Prepare your work for sharing with the world. We’ll discuss how to export, present, and publish your images so they communicate your creative intent clearly and confidently.
